How To Hold A Corporate Event That Doesn’t Hurt The Planet

Corporate Event

Corporate Event

In 2023, more people than ever before will be aware of how their actions can impact the planet. Hence why so many people are turning vegan, choosing hybrid cars, and minimizing their waste in consumerism.

However, when it comes to something as a formal event for work, there is no need to give up this image. More companies are priding themselves on their sustainability and green effort, and if yours is one, there are ways to pull off any event in an ethical and renewable way.

With that in mind, here are some tips on how you can hold a brilliant corporate event without causing problems for the planet.

Catering

When it comes to planning the catering for any event, you will need to think carefully about how it will impact the planet.

So, when choosing a catered buffet for corporate event, you will need to ensure that all of the food is sustainably sourced, that most of it is meat-free and dairy free, as well as ensuring that the plastic packaging produced by the food is minimal. You could even make a point of mentioning this to your guests on the invites!

Invites

Most people in 2023 who hold events invite people via digital platforms, and if you are looking for an easy way to reduce the waste produced by your event, you should opt to do the same. Aim to use a social media platform such as Facebook to invite everybody to your event, as this will not result in paper waste. It will also allow you to take a head count, which will help to ensure that you have the right amount of food and drink for the event, which, once again, reduces waste.

The Cutlery

It’s safe to say that most people have heard about single-use plastics and how they are causing severe issues to the oceans and marine life. So, when you are designing the buffet for your corporate event, aim to ensure that all of the plates, cups, glasses, and cutlery are reusable. Also, if you need to have straws at your event, make sure that they are paper or metal. This will help to reduce the waste produced by your meeting, which will help the planet.

The Energy Sources

More venues are heating and lighting themselves using green energy. Therefore, if it is possible, it would be best for the environment and your company’s image to choose a venue that uses green energy, such as solar panels or another renewable source.

If this is not possible in your location, there are other ways you can minimize the CO2 produced, so don’t worry too much! It would just be a nice gesture and sub-focus of the event.

Accessibility

While it is tempting to want to hold a corporate event out in a remote location, it is important to consider how your guests are going to get there. If everybody is using individual cars, then this will up the CO2 created in order to get to the event, not the message you want to send if you’re aiming for a sustainable event.

So, try to ensure that everybody that is invited to the meeting can get there via public transport or that carpools are set up. Alternatively, if the budget stretches, you could opt for people to travel to these events using hybrid hired cars.
